A calm, rounded oak bowl whose character comes directly from the timber. Natural cracks, shifts in colour and changing grain are left visible, giving the piece a quiet wabi-sabi presence: beauty that comes from age, irregularity and honest material. Instead of hiding the splits, Jevgeni Krassi has carefully secured them with copper wire. The small metal stitches strengthen the vulnerable areas and create a restrained contrast with the warm oak.

‘Yakisugi’ is a traditional Japanese method of wood preservation using fire, dating back to the 18th century and historically used for protecting the exterior wooden cladding of buildings.
The bowl is shaped and finished by hand with food-safe linseed oil and waxes. It can hold fruit or be displayed as a one-of-a-kind centrepiece; every mark and grain pattern belongs to this particular piece of wood.

Suitable for fruit and decorative use. Do not allow fruit or other organic matter to spoil on the surface. Hand wash only, using a damp cloth, and dry promptly. Do not place in a dishwasher or leave immersed in water.
